SheShe Bows

Dear Paisley,
One day you are going to look in your closet and see the exceptional style that I, your mommy, have when it comes to dressing you every day. :) One of my absolute favorites, SheShe Made and the maker of your very first birthday outfit, is doing a little giveaway on her blog. So, of course I had to jump in on this one!

Ashley, along with her adorable daughter and little model, Ava, have gone from spending a ton on boutique bows and outfits to quitting her job and making them herself! She does monogramming, applique, ruffle pants, pillowcase dresses.....pretty much anything you can think of. And if she hasn't thought of it already, let her know, and she'll make it!

This is your outfit for your 1st birthday. Cute, huh?!?

Except you weren't the best model for me that day! You would have rather thrown a fit than me take any more pictures!

Anywho, SheShe Made has some cute stuff, kid, and I've got a feeling your closet will be a little tighter since I've found her! :)

Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Dear Paisley,
Today is your dad's and my 3rd anniversary, and also your "Aunt" Jessie's birthday! Three years ago today, we had the best time with some of the best friends we could ever ask for! After months of planning, we got married at the First United Methodist Church in Batesville. It was one of about 3 weddings that day, so it was mainly our closest family and friends that got to come.

It was absolutely perfect all day! After pictures, your daddy got to see me for the first time in my dress, just me and him (and a few peeking over the balcony that had snuck out of the dressing room)! Then we finished up pictures, and I started the waterworks! I just knew your dad would be the one crying, but I ended up crying the entire time.

After the wedding, we ran off to the "Love Shack" for the after reception party(aka Ron and Suzanne's guest house and our living quarters for the first 6 months we were married....that's another post all-together! Who knew a 1 room place with a stove and shower would be some of the best times we'd ever have?!?). We didn't get to go on our honeymoon because the government lost my passport! So we went for our 1st anniversary! After all, it was already paid for.....

I don't have but a couple of pictures from the wedding because the professional ones are all in albums packed away, but we have one heck of a video that I pull out from time to time and watch! Can't wait for you to see it one day.

We've had a fun 3 years so far, and I can't wait for the next 33! It's been a fun ride, Boo, and I can't wait until you get to have the fun of planning a wedding to someone that you love as much as I love your daddy! :)

Hotter than Blazes

Dear Paisley,
Well, it's Monday, and once again we had a great weekend. I had tennis all weekend, so you and Daddy got to spend some extra bonding time together!

You played Simon Says....

Laid around....

and had some deep conversations.....haha

I love this picture of you asking Daddy for a high five!

You were soooo good at the Racquet Club all day Saturday. You barely fussed or anything, and I was so proud of you! It was so hot, and you were such a trooper just hanging out with your daddy all afternoon watching us play. I just knew as soon as we got home, you would pass out and sleep late in the morning, but boy was I wrong!!!! You fell asleep in the car on the way home, but once we got in.....the Energizer bunny was let loose! You stayed up until almost midnight and woke up talking by 8!!! Whew!

I had to get this picture of you eating. You are so funny sometimes, and you make the silliest faces!

Anywho, tennis pretty much consumed our life this weekend, other than the few minutes I actually cleaned around the house (oh, how I hate cleaning and pray every night I'll wake up and the cleaning fairy would have come and gone! Or at least dusted!)...

It's roughly 104 degrees around here....actually it's only 90-something, but that darn heat index mess is a booger. Summer has officially begun, and so have your days of necked-ness. Yes, I know "necked" should be "naked", but here in MS, we say necked so I spelled necked. (Yes, I actually put "spelt" and had to backspace to put "spelled")....I think one day I'll do an entire post on how we talk around here rather than what is correct. That should be fun!!! :)

Alright, as much as I hate to, I've got to get back to work. I'll see ya later, Tater!

Batesville, MS

Dear Paisley,
Today's Show Us Your Life from Kelly's Korner is our hometown. Your daddy and are from Batesville, Mississippi. He was born and raised there, and my family and I settled there when I was about 5 or 6. Anywho....Batesville has grown a lot in the past few years. It's home to Dunlap & Kyle (the corporate office for Gateway Tires & Service).

It's also home to my high school alma mater, the South Panola Tigers...

and one of Pappy's favorites, the Panola Country Club.

Just up the road about 20 minutes, in Oxford, is the University of Mississippi....HOTTY TODDY! The Grove...

My (and Eli Manning's!) college alma mater....

and one of the prettiest collegiate baseball stadiums in the world! Swayze Field.

I'm hoping Kelly will come visit when Arkansas comes to play!!! :)

Batesville and Panola county has been a good place for us. It's a quaint, loving, small town with everything you'd ever need, and it's where our families are. Our square is growing in leaps and bounds and has once again become the center of the town.

We go back to visit a lot, and we are there just about as much as we are in Greenville. Maybe one day we can get back there for good, but it will always be our hometown regardless of where we end up.

Oh, you make me smile!

Dear Paisley,
On our way to daycare this morning, Uncle Kracker's song You Make Me Smile came on and you said "dance, dance". (Yes, I listen music by a man named Uncle Kracker....I can only imagine the names of some of the artists around when you're my age! Ha.) I looked in my mirror to see you bobbing your head and waving your arms, just having the best time "dancing" in your car seat.

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night

You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh, you make me smile.

Just thought I'd let you know! :)

Anywho, dinner out with Daddy last night was great until you decided you were ready to get down and act a mess. I had contemplated just letting you loose, but Daddy thought that would be a bad idea, and I'm pretty sure he was right. Although with your Chatty Cathy self, you probably would have just gone around saying hi to everyone in the restaurant like a Wal-Mart greeter. I just don't know what we're going to do with your little outspoken tail!

Not much is going on today....just working for the weekend as usual. Grey's Anatomy season finale is on tonight! Whoo hoo! I have dvd's of the show, so please feel free to watch one day to see what your mama used to watch. I can hear you now...."Mmmoooommmmm....." as you roll your eyes....

Have a great day at daycare, and I'll see ya later, Tater!

Hey Lula!

Dear Paisley,
This weekend, we went to visit your grandparents and go to Springfest (our annual carnival/concert down on the square). Nana, me, and you went Friday night for a bit to hear some of the bands that came, and you LOVED it! You danced, and clapped, and grinned real big. I was a little nervous at how you would act since I wasn't sure what you'd think of all the noise and all the people, but you did great!!! So we loaded up and went back Saturday to do a little shopping.

Then we went to visit Suzanne (who by the way ran the 5K that morning in 26:01, and then went home and cleaned!!!). Yay for her!!! :) We had just enough time to see Mrs. Mary and Mrs. Linda at the Candle Shoppe, then it was time for a nap. Daddy was visiting his buddy Ryan so the girls go to spend the day together!

Sunday was church day, and I'm so mad I didn't get any pictures because you had on the CUTEST outfit! Nana was playing with you while I was getting ready, and somehow y'all got to saying "hallelujah!" Nana would say it, then you would say it with the same intensity....SOOOOO cute! Yours kind of comes out as "Hey Lula", but it's adorable nonetheless! You even woke up saying it this morning!

Oh, and you like Oreos....
I have to say, I saw that one coming from a mile away!

You got moved to Doty's class at daycare, so dropping you off in the mornings is SOOO much easier now. This morning, we opened the door, and you let out a big "Hey!" with your Miss America wave. It's amazing the difference a few doors down the hall makes!

Anywho, Boo, I'm about to come get ya! Hey Lula! :)

Love ya, Mama

Just to Say "Hey!"

Dear Paisley,
Here's my vent of the day: (It's small, but very aggravating) I just can't get this blog to look like I would like it to. I get so bored that I don't want to pay to have one made that I'll just get sick of in a week. I'm learning to do stuff like make my own headers, and change the layout, and add cute little touches, but I can't quite get the look I want. Done venting....

You are a mess! You, for some reason, like to get in Lexie & Jake's kennel, take out all the blankets, and climb right back out. I haven't figured out just why yet...

Then you climb into your rocking chair, go "weeee" a few times, then jump right back out and clap your hands. Then you go around giving everybody five saying "aw write!" Back to the chair we go....

Most of the time you look just like your daddy, but in the next picture I think you look like your Nana...

See???

I don't have much to say today, but I just wanted to say "hey" and post some pictures. After all, this IS supposed to be a scrapbook! Ha!

I just love this picture.....

Oh, it's time to go....comin' to get ya honey!

Love, Mama

Weekend Wrap-Up

Dear Paisley,
Thank you for such a great Mother's Day yesterday! We didn't do much, but be lazy and go eat Mexican food, but it was still a great day just getting to hang around with you and Daddy. You've been a little under the weather lately, coughing and a runny nose, but you still managed to wake up yesterday morning calling for me. When I got to you, you smiled real big and gave me a hug.....and, yes, my heart melted. With bed-head and morning breath, you were the cutest, sweetest thing I had ever laid eyes on, and that was all I needed for Mother's Day!

You looked so grown just sitting in your car seat. When I asked you to look at me and say "cheese" you said "No, Mama!" and turned your head.....Thanks! Anywho, I figured I wouldn't bother you trying to take pictures since I do it everyday!!! :)

Friday night, we rode with some friends to watch your daddy and the Generals in the AAA Playoffs against Copiah. You were SO good all afternoon and night, and you went right to bed when we got back at 1:30 am! You played, and climbed, and played some more.....

with your tongue stuck out the whole time! (It's a Walls thing because your Uncle Chris, Nate, and Caleb all do it too!)

Saturday, since it was so pretty outside, we went to the playground at our apartment. You climbed....

and slid....

and slid some more!

You had the best time out there, and, of course, in your wagon! Then it was time for a drink and a nap!

We had so much fun this weekend! I definitely see more trips to the slide in our future since you liked it so much. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for us to be able to go this weekend...even though it is only Monday! :(

Have fun at daycare, and I'll see ya later Tater!
Love, Mama
