Swayze Katherine is Here!

Dear Paisley,

Your baby sister, Swayze Katherine, finally got here yesterday, only five days late!  At 2:41 pm on April 15, 2011, you became a big sister to a precious 8 lb. 11 oz. 19 3/4 in. bundle of pure joy!

You love to hold her, and you keep pointing at her saying "baby!"  She looks exactly like you did when you were born with a head full of jet black hair and dark olive skin.  I can't wait to see how much like you she actually turns out to be! I wonder if her eyes will stay blue like yours and daddy's or if they'll be brown like mine.  Or if her hair will stay dark like mine or be light brown/blonde like yours.  I can't wait to see the beautiful ladies you two precious girls are going to grow up to be.

From the very first moment I held you two years ago, I have loved you with everything I have and couldn't imagine having the same love for anything or anyone else.  But once Swayze was handed to me yesterday, everything I've ever felt for you inside me just doubled! Your daddy and I have two beautiful girls that are perfect in every way and that make us wonder just how we got to be so lucky!

XOXO,
Mama

Yes, I Know...

Dear Paisley,

Yes, I know the pregnancy ticker for Swayze is still up, and it says -2 days until she's due.  However, your sister has not decided just when she feels like coming into this world.  I did go to the doctor yesterday, though, and she's coming by Friday whether she likes it or not! :) That's right, Miss Priss, just a couple more days until you're a BIG SISTER! Ahhhhhh!  I'm so excited!!!! :)

It Came and It Went

Dear Paisley,

Today is Swayze's due date and the day is almost over.  Looks like I will be going to work tomorrow with yet another doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon.  I've gotten a lot done today - 5 loads of laundry, a semi-clean house, and a little bit of homework.  I guess it's a good thing lil sis didn't decide to come today as I obviously had too much to do around here anyway!

A lot of people have been checking on me today which really made the day a less aggravating.  I think I'm aggravated because it's like waiting on someone to give you a surprise after they've already said "I've got a surprise for you, but I can't tell you what it is!" Ugh! I hate when people do that! Ha.

Oh, well.  Tomorrow is another day and another possibility of having a baby.  Maybe I can skip the doctor's office and go straight on to the hospital!  Hey, a girl can dream, right?!?  :)

Later Tater!

A Pretty Day for Pictures

Dear Paisley,

You have got to be the cutest little thing to take pictures of! Here are a few that I took today that I wanted to share with Nana and Dede.

I just love you! :)

Patiently Waiting...

Dear Paisley,
We are still waiting for your little sister to make her debut... You are just like your daddy, and I can already tell Swayze is going to be a lot like me....fashionably late for EVERYTHING!

I'm due tomorrow with no sign of anything changing today.  It sure would be a pretty day to have a baby! :) However, my doctor is adamant about not inducing unless medically necessary, so it looks like we'll be waiting for Swayze to decide on her own.....perfect.  I reckon I can be miserably uncomfortable a little while longer since it will all be worth it when she finally gets here.

It's SO pretty out today so I got you out and took some pictures.  As soon as you decide to take a nap, I'll get them edited and put up here.  Until then, I'll sit here and enjoy you being an only child for a little longer!

Later Tater,
Mama

Happy 2nd Birthday Paisley!

Dear Paisley,

It took me a little while to realize that being a bad blogger didn't mean that I was a bad mother, which is why I am at peace with my posts being so few and far between here lately. Afterall, I am a full time teacher, student, mother, and wife who is within days of having a baby and doing well to get up and get anything accomplished everyday. With all that said, I am not okay with the fact that I did not take 5 minutes thirty days ago to at least acknowledge your birthday on here. You are one amazing little girl, Paisley Rae, and I know this probably won't ever matter to you, but it does my heart so much better to at least tell you happy birthday on the blog I've dedicated to being a scrapbook of your life. So, HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY PAISLEY! I love you more than you will ever know, and the simple thought of you makes me smile. I look forward to many more happy birthdays with our cute little family and can't wait to see the person you grow up to be!

Love,
Momma

Picnics & Pictures

Dear Paisley,

This week has been a tough week for you. Monday, you got bitten at daycare by one of the little boys. On Tuesday, the same boy bit you again..... :( And today, you fell, and scraped your knee and your forehead pretty good! I wish I could just keep you at home tomorrow to give you a break from all the madness you've had this week!

Sunday, it was so pretty here, and it was a much needed break from all the cold and snow we've had lately. Since it was so nice out, your daddy and I took you on a picnic to the Chicot State Park in Arkansas. I was able to get my camera out and get some really good pictures of you. I'm so excited that you're getting to the age where you'll let me take your picture and you'll actually pose and smile for me! I'm starting to like this picture-taking thing! You're definitely one photogenic child! :) I wanted to post a few of them so Dede and Nana can see them.

Hope you like!

I think they turned out really cute, even though I am a little partial! :)

As of Sunday, I'm 33 weeks pregnant with your little sister, Swayze. I've done well and have not gained a pound in a little over a month. I'm definitely getting bigger, lower, and am having a little more trouble getting around since my hips are so sore this go-around. I feel like a 747 trying to get around in a parking lot, but it'll all be over soon, and I'll miss this time of having you by yourself and being able to feel Swayze move. I guess I've got to give a little to get a little!

I can't believe that in 6 weeks (give or take one or two) we'll have 2 beautiful daughters to dote on and love! It's going to be awesome!
